Meet the New Cellink NEO 80+S and B8 Dashcam Batteries

Updated: 4 hours ago

The new Cellink Dashcam Batteries, NEO 80+S and B8

For more than a decade, Cellink dashcam batteries have earned the trust of drivers, installers and vehicle distributors worldwide, including those in Singapore. Designed and manufactured in Korea, Cellink has built its reputation on reliability, safety and practical innovation.

Building on this legacy, Cellink introduces the new NEO 80+S and B8. Featuring a more compact footprint, support for battery expansion and improved installation flexibility, both models are designed to meet the evolving requirements of modern vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs).

Designed for Modern Vehicles

Modern vehicles are becoming increasingly sophisticated, leaving less available space for aftermarket accessories and additional electronics. This is particularly true for electric vehicles (EVs), where packaging constraints often make installation more challenging.

To address these requirements, both the NEO 80+S and B8 have been designed with a more compact footprint without compromising capacity or functionality. Despite their reduced dimensions, both models offer a capacity of 7,800mAh and support battery expansion, providing reliable power for extended dashcam parking mode recording.

The compact NEO 80+S fits neatly within a side storage compartment in the Tesla Model Y's boot, making it ideal for modern vehicles where installation space is limited.

Their smaller footprint allows easier installation under seats, behind trim panels, within cargo compartments and other confined locations commonly found in modern vehicles. This gives installers greater flexibility while maintaining the performance and reliability expected from a dedicated dashcam battery system.

Cellink NEO 80+S – Smaller Footprint, Smarter Power Management

The NEO 80+S succeeds the NEO 8+S as Cellink's flagship battery system.

While capacity has been slightly increased from 7,500mAh to 7,800mAh, the most significant improvements lie in its smarter battery management and reduced footprint.

Measuring just 170mm in length compared to 205mm for the NEO 8+S, the NEO 80+S offers greater installation flexibility in modern vehicles where available space is increasingly limited.

Existing NEO 8+S users will continue to enjoy smartphone app connectivity on the NEO 80+S, allowing convenient monitoring of battery status, charging status and estimated remaining operating time from their mobile device.

The Cellink NEO Plus app allows users to conveniently monitor battery status, charging information and estimated operating time from their smartphone.

Building on this capability, the NEO 80+S introduces enhanced power monitoring. When accessories are connected to the USB output port, their power consumption is automatically included in the battery's runtime calculations alongside the dashcam's power usage. This provides a more accurate estimate of the remaining operating time displayed through the app, giving users a clearer understanding of actual power consumption, particularly when additional devices such as modem or mobile hotspots are connected.

Updated Charging Mode Operation

The NEO 80+S also introduces a revised charging mode operation.

When the Charging Mode / Power Switch is set to OFF, the dashcam will continue to operate normally whenever the vehicle ignition is switched on. In this mode, vehicle power is supplied directly to the dashcam while battery charging is disabled.

Cellink B8 – A Bigger Upgrade Than Its Size Suggests

The Cellink B8 replaces the popular NEO 5S as the entry model in the Cellink lineup.

While positioned as the entry model in the lineup, the B8 delivers a significant upgrade in capacity and flexibility. Compared to the NEO 5S's 4,500mAh capacity, the B8 offers 7,800mAh, an increase of approximately 71%.

The higher capacity allows longer parking mode operation, while support for expansion batteries gives users the flexibility to increase capacity further when required. For drivers looking for a practical and reliable parking mode power solution, the B8 offers excellent value without compromise.

Safety by Design

Beyond installation flexibility, safety and reliability remain at the core of every Cellink design.

One distinctive feature of Cellink batteries is their battery cell assembly design. Unlike battery systems that rely on internal wiring to connect battery cells to the circuit board, Cellink's battery cells are soldered directly to the printed circuit board (PCB).

Cellink's direct-to-PCB battery cell design eliminates unnecessary internal wiring, helping to improve durability, reliability and vibration resistance in automotive environments.

While direct soldering may appear to be a conventional assembly method, it remains a proven approach widely used in quality electronic products where reliability and durability are critical. By reducing internal connection points, Cellink minimises potential failure points while maintaining a clean and robust electrical pathway between the battery cells and the battery management circuitry.

Combined with advanced battery management circuitry and proven LiFePO₄ battery technology, this engineering approach helps deliver dependable performance and long-term reliability in demanding automotive environments.

Trusted Across Passenger and Fleet Vehicles

From private passenger vehicles and luxury cars to commercial fleets and electric vehicles, Cellink batteries continue to provide reliable power for extended parking mode recording.. Manufactured in Korea and backed by Product Liability Insurance and an 18-month warranty in Singapore, Cellink remains a trusted choice among drivers and professional installers alike.
